01The client
A family-owned removalist that needed its website to answer the first question every customer asks.
Chad Removals is a family-owned removalist in Wollongong, moving homes and offices across the Illawarra and interstate since 2002.
Almost every enquiry starts the same way: how much will my move cost? The honest answer depends on how much there is to move.
The brief was a new website that ranks for removalist searches across the Illawarra and turns visitors into quote requests that already hold everything the team needs to price a move. Adcraft built Chad Removals' original website, including the first version of the volume calculator and online booking, and later rebuilt it on WordPress. The old addresses were redirected to their new pages, so the rankings the first site had earned carried over.
02Site structure
A page for every service and every suburb the trucks go to.
The site is organised the way people search for a removalist.
House moves, office moves, interstate removals, and packing and box hire each have their own page. A Locations We Serve hub links to pages for Wollongong, North Wollongong, Corrimal, Thirroul, Figtree, Port Kembla, Shellharbour, Albion Park and Kiama, each written for that place.
A removalist pricing guide answers the cost question in depth and brings in people who are still researching their move. 320 Google reviews sit throughout the site, and on phones a fixed bar keeps Call, Free Quote and Email one tap away on every page.

03Volume calculator
A volume calculator that does the measuring before anyone visits.
The removalist volume calculator, first built by Adcraft for the original site and rebuilt for the new one, lists 145 household items across 11 rooms, from beds and wardrobes to pianos and packed cartons.
Customers search or browse by room, add quantities and watch the total build in cubic metres, with a 30% allowance for packing and a breakdown by room.
The list saves in the browser, so a customer can walk through the house and finish it later, and it can be exported as text. When they ask for a quote, the total volume, the full item list and the room breakdown go with the request. The team can size the truck and the crew straight away, without a site visit and without a round of phone calls.

04Online booking
Online booking built around the questions a removalist asks anyway.
The online booking form asks what a removalist needs to quote: the suburbs moving from and to, the type of property at each end, bedrooms and living areas, extras such as a garage, study, outdoor furniture, a piano or stairs, the moving date and any access notes.
It is short enough to fill in on a phone, and it points customers with a full house to the volume calculator for a detailed inventory. A four-step how-it-works panel sets expectations: fill out the form, choose the service, get the quote, relax.

05Results
On page one of Google for the searches that bring in moves.
Google Search Console tells the story.
In September 2025 the site's average position across all searches was 26.9. By September 2026 it was 8.4, on page one. From September 2025 to October 2026 the site appeared in Google results 115,000 times and earned 1,634 clicks, and it averages a first-page position for 542 searches that do not include the business name.
For the searches that matter most it sits near the top: removalist wollongong at an average position of 4.6, cheap removalists wollongong at 4.0 and best removalists wollongong at 4.1 over the whole period. The pricing guide alone has been shown 30,901 times, and the volume calculator and online booking pages rank in their own right. Two in three clicks come from phones, which is why every feature was designed for a phone first.

06What it means for trades
Tools that answer the customer's question are the best SEO a trade website can have.
A removalist, a builder and a plumber share the same problem: customers want a price before they call, and the business needs details before it can give one.
A calculator, a booking form that asks the right questions and a page for every service and suburb solve both, and Google rewards the site for it.
This is how Adcraft approaches web design for trades and home services across Wollongong, the Illawarra and Sydney. Adcraft also runs Chad Removals' Google Ads, so paid and organic search are managed by the same team that built the site. Trade websites start from $5,000, and SEO and Google Ads can build on the same structure once the site is live.
